Cherry Blossoms (Cookies)
Approximately makes: 24 Cookies
1 Cup Softened Butter (equals 2 sticks of butter)
2/3 Cup Sugar
1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
1/2 tsp Almond Extract
1 3/4 Cup Flour
3 drops red food coloring (approximately)
24 Cherry Cordial Hershey’s Kisses (approximately) (You can do a search at Hershey’s website to find closest store that carries them)
1 1/2 cups Powdered Sugar (approximately)
Cream together the butter, sugar, vanilla, and almond extract.
Add flour and food coloring, mix until thick and creamy.
Chill dough for at least 45 minutes.
Press about 2 tablespoons of dough around each kiss. (again 2 tablespoons is approximate. Depends on your liking)
Bake in an un-greased pan for 9 1/2 minutes at 375 degrees F. (make sure to the minute and no longer. they burn somewhat easy).
Carefully remove hot cookies from pan and roll in powdered sugar. Let cool on a rack or parchment paper. Store in an airtight container.
There are some new Raspberry Hershey Kisses, these would be a GREAT substitute in these cookies!
