Hands-on: 15 min Total Time: 25 minutes Serves 6
6 bratwurst (or jumbo hot dogs)
3 scallions, thinly sliced (white and green parts)
6 thin slices of Monterey Jack cheese
6 slices of bacon
6 grilled or toasted hot dog rolls
1. preheat grill
2. Cut a 1/2-inch deep slit lengthwise in each bratwurst. Line with scallions and a slice of cheese, trimming to fit. Wrap a slice of bacon around each brat and secure with a wooden pick.
3. Grill over medium, cheese side up, for 6 minutes or until bacon is crisp and the brats are fully cooked.
4. Discard wooden picks. Place brats in toasted rolls and serve with ketchup, pickle relish, and mustard.
I am guessing that if you wanted to for go the scallions you may. Personally that is part of the recipe I wouldn’t do! I am not a scallions fan, but this recipe sure looks YUMMY!
